A core belief for DICK’S is that sports make people better. The holiday strategy was positioned around the idea of giving the gift of sport, and those lasting memories that it can sustain over many years to come and bring people together. While the products are important, it’s just as important to remind everyone why sports matter.
↳ Execution
The output was a metaphorical piece with a simple ping-pong table representing the cycle of life. Serving witness to the growth of two children and their family. It proves much more than its physical representation – it’s a place to gather, to grow up, to learn how to both win and lose, a party’s centerpiece, a workstation, and so on. While an emotional piece, it proved an incredible success – breaking the retailer's annual ping pong table sales and selling out in numerous locations. Not to mention it was the Film Grand winner at the Clio Sports.
